Crufts 2025
Crufts - according to many breeders, judges and dog lovers across the continents, the most prestigious show in the world. Without obtaining a qualification or the title of C.I.B. (International Champion of Beauty) you do not have the opportunity to participate in it... and for us it is a huge honor that we were able to run along the famous green carpets with our four-legged companions again.
This year we were represented by two of our princesses. Actually... a princess and a queen :-) Apinka (JCH VCh. Apunga Cinderella Hogwild) qualified for the veteran class and in the busiest class, the open class, our red star from Australia Suzie (JCh. Heelersridge In Farriers Arms) was entered.
Although participation in Crufts is a really great honor for us, this year it looked like we would not go until the last moment. We are fighters and crazy, but health can stop us too. Fevers, whooping coughs, absolute helplessness... us sick, children sick, babysitting grandma and grandpa sick.. We didn't know on Thursday evening if we would make it and we were supposed to leave on Friday morning. But... this year's Crufts was more special for us than any other. It wasn't just a show... It was a place to meet a family friend who lives on the other side of the world. With a friend without whom the story of Cinderella's Ranch would have been written with a completely different pen and perhaps would be just a memory today... Mrs. Gayl Jarvis. A breeder who 15 years ago put her trust in a Czech cowboy and sent him a lop-eared puppy halfway around the world. A puppy who became the other half of her master for years to come and the father of many wonderful dogs. Among others, Apinky, who started a new chapter in our kennel. Since then, this breeder has become a member of the family, who has experienced the birth of our children with us, among other things. And as a continuation of our common story, Suzie flew here two years ago... And now Gayle flew here and there alone, just to see her Suzie on the green carpet.. We simply could not let this happen. We could not miss the opportunity to meet or disappoint her... so we went....
I will spare you the description of 1400 km with a stuffy nose and aching body, as well as the unconfirmed reservation for the tunnel through the LaManche, the terrible traffic situation in England, when a three and a half hour journey on the motorway turned into a six-hour hell (the golden Prague ring road) and how (surprisingly!) my navigation skills failed several times and we wandered around Birmingham at six in the morning, even though we slept 10 minutes from the exhibition center in the countryside... The important thing is that on Sunday morning our entire team was there.
First it was the turn of the veterans of Apink. Handler... me... auuuu... anyone who knows me knows that the space inside the show ring is absolute torture for me. My brain shuts down and I collapse.... But.. it's different with Apink... she was so happy to be there with us, to be able to work... She enjoyed it so much that she transferred it to me... We didn't care if we won or not. It was just the two of us there.. together... me for her and she for me... amazing, proud, happy... and the third place we brought home was like the icing on the cake...
We could enjoy the view of the juniors for a while and then it was Zuzanka's turn. We have been working hard for the last six months to show her and her amazing handler Petra Kolegarová that dog shows are fun and not a necessary evil (Zuzanka prefers cattle), that teeth can be counted calmly and that she can trust herself because she is amazing. We wanted Gayle to be proud of her so much... We definitely were! In our eyes, she was absolutely amazing and the third place she won in a strong competition is the most precious of all her titles for us <3
It was another amazing day full of emotions and meeting many amazing people and friends. We were so happy to see Mark and Kimberly again, Simona, Verča and Peter and Drift, whom we visited on the way home. And of course Gayle! Thank you so much for flying all that long and it was an honor to meet you! Thank you for everything you mean to our family!
Another huge thank you goes to our handler Petra Kolegarová. It wouldn't be possible without you. You can squeeze the best out of our furry friends... We thank you not only for your great professional work and presentation, but also for your support, training and patience (especially with me). I know it's not always easy with us, but we are happy to have you. And our dogs too... THANK YOU!
Thanks also go to Zuzka at the Hogwild kennel station for Apink. She is one of the most amazing beings in the world and you can be proud of her... Timberka would definitely be <3 THANK YOU!
We also thank Míša Grimm Lelková and the entire team from krmení.cz for their support, kibble and treats from Iber for our furry friends. Quality food is the basis of everything and without good food there would be no good and healthy dogs. THANK YOU!
The biggest thank you, however, belongs to our family. Without your support, both in private and professional terms, none of this would be possible. I know that you have a hard time with us and we apologize for all the stupidity and complications we have caused you... We are grateful to all of you with all our hearts for allowing us to fulfill our dreams... THANK YOU!
Special thanks to my husband, who patiently fulfills all my whims, even though he often disagrees with them. Thank you, my love, for standing by me as we once promised... in good and bad... I love you :-*
Thank you also to everyone who thought of us, kept their fingers crossed and worried about us... We love you all very much!
AND TO YOU, OUR FURRY FRIENDS... WE THANK YOU FOR EVERY MOMENT YOU STAND BY US AND MAKE OUR LIFE SO SPECIAL...
THANK YOU!!!!
